Dear BPG members,
Our annual Awards Banquet was held in Ft. Worth during the inaugural Open Beefmaster Show at the Fort Worth Livestock Show. There were 96 entries in the show. That is a great start for our first show in Ft. Worth. 62 people attended the banquet that was held at Los Vaqueros in the historic Ft. Worth Stockyards. The restaurant was really an awesome place with a truly nostalgic atmosphere. Thank you Lindsey Hendricks for securing the restaurant, you did a great job!

Our Annual Meeting will be held during the week of the Houston Open Show. I am trying to get the meeting on Thursday but have not heard back from Houston yet on when we can get a room, but will send an email out as soon as I am notified. Please try and be in attendance if at all possible. Several items will be on the agenda such as approving the By Laws, electing new officers, rule amendments, etc. We need your input.
We are putting together a new Membership Directory for the BPG. We are selling ads for the directory. Full page color is $300, full page black and white is $250, 1/2 page color ads are $150 and 1/2 page black and white are $100. Please contact Sarah Nabours at sjn@hughes.net or myself at emsranch@gmail.com with your info. We need that info ASAP so we can have the books available at Houston. This is a major fund raiser for our group. Please be a part and promote your cattle. If you have any photos that you would like placed in the directory, please email those to either Sarah or myself so we can get them in.
To be eligible for Show Dam of the Year and Show Sire of the Year award, you must nominate your cow or bull. The nomination fee is $100 per animal if nominated BEFORE the show at Houston. The points will be made retroactive back to the Ft Worth show so that all of your points will be counted. Nominations will also be accepted until June 30th that will be retroactive to Jan. 1, 2012, but the nomination fee will be raised to $150. I have attached the two forms to this email. Please fill them out and send them in.
