Dear Beefmaster Promotion Group Member,
It is time to get your sale animals consigned to the International Beefmaster Gala in Houston. This is an exciting time!!
The 2015 Sale averaged almost $6000 and had a 12.88% commission. The 2016 Sale averaged almost $4000 in a much lower market, with a 12.59% commission. The 2017 Sale averaged $5185 and had a 14.58% commission. The higher the gross on the sale, the lower our commission will be. This should encourage everyone to get involved and be a part of this great event. Elgin Breeding Service has committed to sponsoring a party before the sale to help draw more attendance and entertain our foreign guests.
Please make your sale commitments early. Notify Bruce as soon as possible with the number of females or bulls that you are planning on consigning. That will give us an idea of what we have to work with and how many more consignments we must put together. Also, we will be asking for photos of all sale animals to put in catalog and post on social media. If consignments come in on time, we will have a full color catalog with photos! (get those entries in!!)
FEES: Please fill out the attached consignment form along with a consignment fee of $175.00 per animal (will be refunded IN FULL if your animal sales in the sale) and send to Bruce Robbins, 19202 Heather Creek, San Antonio, TX 78258. Your consignment fee MUST accompany your consignment form.
ENTRY DEADLINE TO CONSIGN: Your consignment forms and fees are due by December 15, 2017.
CONSIGNMENTS: Semen, flushes, picks or embryos may also be consigned to the sale. Retired show heifers are a great sale lot. They are already halter broke and either safe in calf or have a calf on the ground. JBBA members, this is a great place to
market your ex-show heifers. Sale cattle and show cattle are to come in on Thursday, March 1, 2018. As always, the sale cattle must be halter broke. If you need assistance getting your cattle halter broke, please call me. I have a list of people that halter break cattle so that will not be a problem. Please call with any questions you might have.
ENTRY DEADLINE TO SHOW: If the animal you are consigning in the sale is too old to enter the show, please call me to discuss this. This is not a problem, just talk to me about it. All sale animals will be tied together behind the sale arena one hour prior to sale. Open show entry deadline is January 5, 2018. Go to email@example.com to enter the Open Beefmaster Show. PLEASE call me if you have ANY questions on the show or sale.
Please make this event a booming success by consigning only your best. Have your animals in sale condition. Remember, you are professionals. You should know better than anyone how to get an animal ready for a sale, just have them ready for a show like you are used to doing.
Encourage consignments from other members. Word of mouth means a lot. Over 1 million people attend the Houston Livestock Show.
This sale and show will be held in conjunction with the International week of the Houston Livestock Show, so there will be many International guests in attendance. Bruce Robbins will be the Sale Manager for the sale and Anthony Mihalski will be the auctioneer. We look forward to helping you achieve your marketing goals with your show cattle.
