December 2022 Newsletter

Dear BPG Members,

Can you believe Christmas is just a week away?  2022 has passed by in such a hurry.  Blessings to each of you for 2023.

BPG had a great 2022 as far as show numbers are concerned.  State Fair of Texas was our largest show there to date.  Several other shows were also up in numbers.  Beefmaster U was a huge success, moving to our new 2 day format.  Being able to host our Banquet on Saturday night of the show and present our Year End awards was a very special event.  Thanks so much to everyone that helped make this event a success.  It takes everyone pitching in to make it all happen.  I look forward to growing even more at BU in 2023 and even adding some new items.

REMINDERS:
**Be sure and get your Houston entries in by January 5.
**Annual BPG GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING--January 15, 2023, 2:00 pm, McFarland Room, Watt Arena, during the Fort Worth Livestock Show
**Be sure and get your dues paid for 2023.  Thanks to our young technical group of ladies, we now are able to pay dues online.  Go to: beefmasterpromotiongroup.com and click on the link to pay online and that will get you where you need to be.  You can also still pay the old fashioned way by pony express and mail your check to Linda Hick!  The dues form and Linda's address are also on the website.

MERRY CHRISTMAS &                            HAPPY NEW YEAR
May you enjoy the simple blessings that matter most at                                  Christmas and throughout the year.

August 2022 Newsletter

Dear BPG Members,
August is almost over so hopefully the heat will subside soon and more rain will fall for those that need it.

Our fall show season is beginning soon in Abilene at the West Texas Fair.  There is a new Livestock Manager at the Fair this year.  If there is anything you would like addressed at the facility to improve our show, please let me know or Tim Clyburn, our Beefmaster Director.  He is currently addressing the unloading issue and more dirt around the wash racks and other places where cattle tend to fall.

We will have our meeting on Saturday, September 10 at the completion of the JBBA show in the conference room beside the office.  Hope everyone can attend.

Entries for the State Fair of Louisiana open on Friday and run through September 30.  Don't forget to get those entries in. We have a great time in Shreveport!

Don't forget, your BPG Dues must be paid before you show.  If you have not paid your 2022 dues, please go to our website, print out the form and mail to Linda Hicks at the address on the form.

Hope to see everyone in Abilene!

Dear BPG Members,
I think summer has arrived!!  It's hot and dry at my house!!

Our big show, BEEFMASTER U, is fast approaching.  This is our only fund raiser for the year.  We use the profits from this show to fund our entire year--awards, premium money, insurance, all of our expenses.  So we need each of YOU to participate.  Get those entries mailed in to Emily by JUNE 13 so you don't have to pay a late fee.  Lots of awesome awards will be given out.  We haven't had an Open Show since Houston, so let's get these cattle on the road, Road Warriors!!

A very special part of this year's event is our BPG YEAR END AWARDS AND MEMBER APPRECIATION DINNER.  This is BPG's opportunity to thank our members for their hard work and dedication to our breed's year-round activities.  Dinner will be held at the Brazos Expo Center located in the Brazos B Exhibit Hall on Saturday, June 25 at 6:30 pm.  DINNER IS FREE--yes you read it correctly--it's FREE.  ELGIN BREEDING SERVICE has very graciously donated the meal for our members.

I am so excited about this APPRECIATION DINNER for all our members.  PLEASE COME and enjoy the hospitality BPG is offering to its awesome membership.  THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO FOR OUR ASSOCIATION.  Enjoy great FOOD and FELLOWSHIP with our friends.

You know, in our breed--BEEFMASTERS--we actually LIKE each other, so come on and eat and visit.  Please let Emily know how many we need to plan for from your group.

We will have a short BPG meeting on Friday at 2:00.  Location--TBD
